Thane, December 22, 2013: As the Christmas is around the corner, Santa Claus is gifting a big surprise to the Thaneites with UPVAN ARTS FESTIVAL. The Upvan Art Festival is organizing the biggest Talent hunt at Thane in the performing arts involving vocals (gaayan), dance(Nritya) and playing of musical instruments (vaadan). Shripad Bhalerao, Director of Performing Arts, Upvan Arts Festival speaking at the auditions said, “We have received more than 400 entries from Thane, Mumbai, Nashik, Ahmednagar, and Ambernath. It took us 15-20 days to plan and organize this, with participants in the age group of 11 to 16 years, 16 to 25 years and more than 25 years categories. This has been the largest registration of participants in Thane district till date. Entries are for non-Bollywood performing arts, pure classical and semi-classical art forms.” For the talent hunt, the organizers bottom to top approach helped to reach out to all schools, and colleges across Thane and neighboring districts
