Thane, December 22, 2013: As the Christmas is around the corner, Santa Claus is gifting a big surprise to the Thaneites with UPVAN ARTS FESTIVAL. The Upvan Art Festival is organizing the biggest Talent hunt at Thane in the performing arts involving vocals (gaayan), dance(Nritya) and playing of musical instruments (vaadan).
Shripad Bhalerao, Director of Performing Arts, Upvan Arts Festival speaking at the auditions said, “We have received more than 400 entries from Thane, Mumbai, Nashik, Ahmednagar, and Ambernath. It took us 15-20 days to plan and organize this, with participants in the age group of 11 to 16 years, 16 to 25 years and more than 25 years categories. This has been the largest registration of participants in Thane district till date. Entries are for non-Bollywood performing arts, pure classical and semi-classical art forms.”
For the talent hunt, the organizers bottom to top approach helped to reach out to all schools, and colleges across Thane and neighboring districts, more than 200+ circulars were sent across to make this possible. The winners in the final rounds will be given prizes of more than Rs. 3 lakhs. This includes, top prize of Rs. 25,000 in each category, 18 prizes each of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 7000.
Giving more details on organizing the talent hunt, the entire talent team headed by Shripad Bhalerao along with Lata Rajesh, Ravi Nawale, Swati Dixit, were excited with the response they got from the contestants.
Shripad Bhalerao, Director Performing arts UAFT, smiling along with few contestants added further, “We had a challenge to manage the logistics and data management of 18 categories in total. We are selecting 90 best participants, from more than 400 participants. These top 90 participants from all categories will be performing on the 10th, 11th and 12th January. You are requested to encourage and promote the upcoming talents. However, surprisingly the local people along with participant’s parents and siblings have volunteered for free to make this a successful event. All the local authorities have also been very helpful”.
The festival has organized workshops and seminars on art related subjects by experienced professionals in their respective art fields. It has various events such as demonstrations, exhibitions along with street stalls and food fiestas. The festival is a feast for senses and an unmissable opportunity to open your eyes to the world of art.

Upvan Arts Festival is organized by the Upvan Art Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to giving a strong platform for untapped and unidentified artists of Indian arts to showcase their talents and to promote India’s rich cultural heritage among all sections of society.
The festival is organized on 10th, 11th and 12th January 2014. मुंबई, ता. ११- महाराष्ट्राचे नूतन उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार यांनी आज (ता. ११) रात्री नऊच्या सुमारास मंत्रालयातील सहाव्या मजल्यावरील दालनात उपमुख्यमंत्रीपदाचा कार्यभार स्वीकारला. सर्व लोकांना सोबत घेऊन जाण्याचे आपले धोरण असून केवळ बोलण्याऐवजी कृतीवर भर राहणार असल्याचे त्यांनी यावेळी स्पष्ट केले. राजभवनावरील शपथविधीचा कार्यक्रम आटोपल्यानंतर पवार यांनी नूतन मुख्यमंत्री पृथ्वीराज चव्हाण यांच्यासमवेत मणिभवन आणि चैत्यभूमी येथे जाऊन राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी आणि डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांच्या पवित्र स्मृतींना वंदन केले. यानंतर मंत्रालयात राजमाता जिजाऊ आणि छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज यांच्या प्रतिमांना पुष्पांजली अर्पण केली. मंत्रालयातील मिनी थिएटरमध्ये पत्रकारांशी वार्तालाप केल्यानंतर मुख्यसचिव, अप्पर मुख्यसचिव, सचिव तसेच अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकार्यांसमवेत बैठक घेतली. सुमारे दीड तास ही बैठक चालली. यावेळी राज्यातील विविध प्रश्नांचा आढावा घेण्यात आला. नागपूर येथे होणार्या आगामी हिवाळी अधिवेशनाचीही चर्चा करण्यात आली.
